***Note: these features are applicable to a previous version of the game***
I’ll go ahead and kick this off here:
This is a list of Easter eggs that have been uncovered. This might or might not include everything you guys have found, but it does include everything I’ve either seen you guys use or that y’all have told me about. For now, I’ll leave it up to you to post and add new things to the list as you find them.
- Regenerating Seekers and Lithium mines become available after 10 hours of play in a ship. After the first one is used, another one will regenerate every 5 minutes
- Ctrl-a will display a cryptic message telling you where you might find an upgraded ship class
- All of the standard ships [a-n] are being offered an upgrade at their respective home worlds. (10,000 gold minimum, resets the gold to zero)
- The BR-2000 is available as an upgrade at Orion (minimum 10,000 gold).
- Cygnus X-1 will normally transport your ship to the Ursus/Hyperion cluster of planets in Alpha. There is a second black hole (Cygnus X-0) near the Ursus/Hyperion cluster that will send you back near dv/roids/rigel/sb1/gorn
- The KBOP is available as an upgrade at Klinzhai (minimum 10,000 gold).
- The INTERCEPTOR is available as an upgrade at Romulus (minimum 10,000 gold).
- The DEFIANT is available as an upgrade at EARTH (minimum 10,000 gold).
- The AVG IX is available as an upgrade at Assimilation in Delta Quadrant (minimum 10,000 gold).
- You can get to Delta Quadrant by reversing through the Omega Wormhole. The Transwarp Conduit in Delta will return you either to Alpha (fwd) or Gamma (rev)
- The percentage of gold that will potentially be left behind when a ship dies, increases as the ship gains more gold. I.E. a 20k ship will drop will drop 20% of its gold, a 30k ship will drop 30% of its gold, a 70k ship will drop 70% of its gold, and anything with >100k will drop 100% of its gold when it dies.
- “Upgrade” ships have progressively better gold earning rates with each Tier. That is, starbases will award more gold per DmgGiven when you dock.
- On “Ctrl-A” and Upgrades: As some of you have noted, yes there are planets that aren’t listed on your Ctrl-A message- that will offer you upgrades. The Ctrl-A messages are merely hints or suggestions, and not fully illustrative of all possible options.
- The FERENGI is available as an upgrade at Alpha Centauri in Gamma Quadrant (minimum 20,000 gold).
- The SV-1 is available as an upgrade at Vidicon Beta in Gamma Quad (minimum 30,000 gold).
- The SPHERE is available as an upgrade at Synthesis in Delta Quad (minimum 20,000 gold).
- The D7 is available as an upgrade at Khittomer Outpost in Omega Quad (minimum 20,000 gold).
- The D5 is available as an upgrade at Rura Penthe in Omega Quad (minimum 20,000 gold).
- The D-10 is available as an upgrade at Gauss in Beta Quad (minimum 30,000 gold).
- The CUBE is available as an upgrade at Collective in Delta Quad (minimum 30,000 gold).
- The SCOUT is available as an upgrade at Gorn (minimum 10,000 gold).
- The RAPTOR is available as an upgrade at Quetzalcoatl in Omega Quad (minimum 20,000 gold).
- The GBOP is available as an upgrade at Gagaran Outpost in Omega Quad (minimum 20,000 gold).
- The VALDORE is available as an upgrade at Encinitas in Beta Quad (minimum 30,000 gold).
- The DKORA is available as an upgrade at Ferrigulum in Gamma Quad (minimum 30,000 gold).
- The GALOR is available as an upgrade at Cardassia in Gamma Quad (minimum 10,000 gold).
- The KELDON is available as an upgrade at Triangulum in Gamma Quad (minimum 20,000 gold).
- The HIDEKI is available as an upgrade at Bajor in Gamma Quad (minimum 30,000 gold).
And that’s pretty much it so far. As you guys find new stuff, feel free to keep those secrets to yourself or to pass them along however you see fit. As far as I’m concerned, if I see something mentioned in the chat, it’s public knowledge and I might add it to this list. Same goes for any spoilers or leaks I might pass along. For example, I won’t drop hints about getting a super-powerful ship to only one person; I’ll post it here to keep things fair. As a player, I’ll also refrain from using features unless they’re posted here for everyone to see.

There seems to be a bug with the Seekers. I see them now after 10+ hours in mechanic, but I can fire the first one only after an additional 16K+ seconds!

In Alpha, scan “Z” for the Cygnus X-0. (Why not “C” instead?)

The second black hole was an in-game trigger and wasn’t active at the launch of this version. By assigning it a default object letter Z, it avoided any conflict if there happened to already be a player-generated object at the same time, such as gold, plasma, ship debris, etc. it was much simpler to do it that way than to let it generate its own letter from the queue or come up with a timer or whatever.

I’m curious: I can go to two different planets for a Tier 2 upgrade from the KBOP. Will both planets offer the same or different upgrades?
-
June 6, 2017 at 3:37 am #7632obitKeymaster
Hehe I’ll try to answer this carefully without giving too much away:
Any planet that offers an upgrade will only offer a single ship class. No two planets will offer the same thing.

I was afraid of that. On what basis should I choose then? Is there no hint anywhere as to what I might get from each?

Trial and
errorsuccess…I can tell you that the ships only get better as you progress through the Tiers. Also, as I noted in the original post, the gold-per-DmgGiven rates improve as you go, and will eventually fully offset the cost for an upgrade (if you can survive long enough).
If it’s any consolation, I don’t think there are any bad ships in the game; there are however, some that will require strategies outside of our comfort zones.
Keep an eye on this forum thread as I update the top post with unlocks from time to time. Also, I recommend you share cross tell with your fellow players. You could work together and split up the work, or keep your cards close to hold an edge over the competition.

At Kittimer (sp?), a KBOP can upgrade to a D7.
-
June 6, 2017 at 9:13 pm #7637ktekinayParticipant
And 30k is required for Tier 3.

D7 -> D10 at Gauss, although that feels like a 30k downgrade.
The next upgrade it to some Borg ship, but I doubt I’ll survive that long. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

Sphere -> Cube at Collective, it’ll be worth the 30k you are paying for it.

I don’t know if this is a thing, but Cygnus in Alpha just threw me into the middle of nowhere in Beta. Now I have a LONG way back.

I have to say that this whole line of CDA-120 ships are incredibly weak. I’m hoping this means something great for the Tier 3 upgrade.

Everyone has their own style, but I personally believe that the cardies (aside from the 180) are some of the best non-cloaking ships.
I’ll admit the 120 is a lightweight, but it has cheap warp and it’s quick. They’re pretty easy to keep alive imo.
The Galor (it’s a standard javatrek version like all the other T1 ships) is comparable with a Larson in most regards. The ESI, long scanner, variable drones, and regenerating mine make it a little better than the Larson for fighting cloaking ships. It also has a nice 20% gold bonus in this version.
The current game’s Keldon hasn’t seen much action at all, but I found that I could thoroughly trash the bots with it in testing. The scanner and ultra-low visibility (50%) are key to survival. It gets a boost in firepower over the Galor and it has a THICC hull/shield combo. Theres a 40% gold earning rate increase to boot.
I’ve seen one or two Jem Hadar ships (T2) since the new game version launched, and as anyone who’s played on this server for a long time can tell you, the JH is a Nasssty ship. If I had time to add another ship to my fleet… who knows. The JH doesn’t need any upgrade at all. On the other hand, it would be the faster of the two T2 options if ultimately unlocking the T3 were the goal.
The only T3 Cardy I’ve seen on the scoreboard so far is the Hideki named “1995”. I’ll just say that it’s worth the effort 🙂
